Kevin and his company have been our health and safety advisors since 2005.  He has advised on and implemented safe practices in the company’s workshops and office premises and been our appointed person for project-specific risk assessment, documentation and control as required by CDM.  He has provided us with a fully functioning and easy to use health and safety management system, with successful auditing by external accreditors, including our CHAS certification;

He has been instrumental in developing and managing our fire risk assessments, as well as all company risk assessments and safe working procedures for our offices and workshops.

For our projects, Kevin and his company have provided all documentation and support in respect of our exhibition fit-out works, where we have held the role of Principal Contractor.

Where we have been asked to act in the role of Principal Designer by our clients, Kevin and his company have been instrumental in supplying this appointment, coordinating designers and sub-contractors, and creating all the required documentation, allowing us to work at this elevated level with our exhibition fit-out clients. 

We have worked with Kevin and his team for 15 years and during this time we have had zero notifiable accidents, and I recommend him and his company without reservation.

Training & Guidance

Kevin has a very comfortable and approachable style – even when he needs to get a tough message across.  Besides being approachable he is, knowledgeable to the nth degree in Health & Safety matters and most importantly he is willing to share that knowledge in a way that the recipient can understand and act on.  Health & Safety is an area of expertise that can be seen by many as very ‘big brother’ and a ‘bit of a dark art’.  Kevin is not that!  All communications are delivered in a professional manner which is not too stuffy (his great sense of humour comes through!) but both the immediate message and the underlying behaviours are very clear from his approach.

Operational Support

I have worked alongside Kevin in his role as Health & Safety Advisor to a major financial institution in the UK.  He develops the procedure (meaning he fully understands it too!), implements it and will feed back to the submitter to improve the quality and develop their understanding of what he is looking to achieve.  Alongside this, he providers an efficient and professional consultancy service on health and safety matters.

Audit

Kevin has audited my company’s work to ensure initial and ongoing compliance with CDM Regulations.  Kevin’s method is very much ‘open book’ following the process he has developed and ensuring that action plans are agreed and delivered against
